Want to learn all about drones?
The ultimate way to learn is to get into it and build your own!
Make-Create’s Drone Makers Course will guide you through the process from start to flying in 9 sessions. We teach in our workshop so you can apply the theory you learn immediately after each lesson.
Our course covers the following key areas:
- What’s a Drone? – Understanding Key Elements
- Drone Hardware – Frames, Motors & Controllers
- Basic Electronics – Components & Soldering
- Drone Software – Flight Controller Setup
- Control Systems – Radios and Telemetry
- Prepare for Launch – Getting Ready to Fly
- Taking to the Air – Drone Control & Flying Safety
After Week 3 we will take a break from theory and spend 2 sessions focussing on your build, before we continue with theory and configuration of your drone.
Our final session, Taking to the Air, will be a flying session on a weekend to flight test your drone! You will learn basic drone control and flying safety. The date will be confirmed later in the course, but is expected to be within 2 – 3 weeks of the course finish date.
Make-Create supply a drone kit as part of the course, including everything you need to get started. Your course fee includes 2 months of Membership of Make-Create, giving you access to all Make-Create sessions so you can keep working on your drone.
This course will run on a Thursday evening for several hours each week. The next class is currently scheduled to start around mid July to mid August, so your drone will be ready in time for some beautiful spring flying.
Each session will start with a theory program, followed by workshop time to build your drone. The Make-Create workshop is open from 6:30pm, so please arrive before the 7pm start time.
